5 Francs: This coins shows a coffee plant with beans encircled by the legend «BANKI NKURU Y’U RWANDA» and the number «2009». While on the other side of the coin, there is the Coat of arms of the Republic of Rwanda and the inscription of the face value in letters «AMAFARANGA ATANU» and number «5»

10 Francs: A banana plant with fruit encircled by the legend «BANKI NKURU Y’U RWANDA» and the number «2009»

20 Francs: A tea plant encircled by the legend «BANKI NKURU Y’U RWANDA» and the number «2009».

Ghana 5 Cedis Commemorative Banknote Issue 2017 to mark 60 years of independence


To mark 60 years of independance of Ghana. The Central Bank issued a special 5 Cedis Banknote in circulation. The new banknote displays an engraved portrait of Dr James Kwegyir Aggrey, the famous educationist and missionary, who lived from October 18, 1875 to July 30, 1927.

Dr. James Kwegyir Aggrey contributed immensely to education to the then Gold Coast.
The portrait is visible from both sides of the note when it is held towards light. The note also has tactile markings to assist the visually impaired along with an intaglio portrait.

The commemorative note is coloured blue like the existing GHC5 note and the reverse side features a seaborne oil-drilling rig in the Tweneboa, Enyenra, Ntomme (TEN) offshore field  It has hologram security mark. The Banknotes have been limited in quantity.

Malawi New 2000 Kwacha Banknote ( 2016) series


This is a new banknote introduced in Malawi to the existing circulating banknotes. It will be the highest denomination banknote in country. The note is in UNC Condition. The complete set of Malawi banknotes will now be seven denominations. Due to economic crisis and devaluation of the Malawian kwacha, the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RMB) introduce the K2000 note.

Namibia Specimen Banknotes of Governor Jafaar B Ahmed, 1996 ( Pick 5 & 10)


These two are rare pieces of Namibia Banknotes of 1996 series. The Banknotes has pick 5 and Pick 10. The notes were signed by Governor Jafaar Bin Ahmed. Tanzania (2016) Commemorative coin to mark "50 years of Bank of Tanzania"



On 14th June in 1966 marked a major turning point in Tanzania’s economic landscape as the Bank of Tanzania started its business as a central bank of the United Republic of Tanzania. On 14th June 2016, It commemorate the 50th anniversary of this important institution. As Tanzania celebrates, It is time to reflect on the role and functions of the Bank, as It has  evolved over the past 50 years. The reflections will enable the public to understand where the Bank came from, where it is now, and where it is heading. It is important to note that  the Bank’s role and functions have changed substantially, matching with country’s changing socio-economic policies and developments in the international economic and financial system.

Despite the challenges encountered over the past five decades, the Bank has managed to discharge its duties and responsibilities effectively.

To mark this occassion, Bank of Tanzania issued a  commemorative silver proof coin to mark 50 years of Bank of Tanzania.
